Nashik : Biometric machines have been installed at all NMC departments and headquarter for biometric attendance of NMC employees. Following transfers on large scale last week, salary is paid as per notes in register. This will be stopped now. Biometric registration of all employees will be made. After completion of the registration, salaries of the employees will be paid as per biometric attendance, informed Municipal Commissioner Abhishek Krishna.
After sudden visit to the departments in the headquarter, orders were issued to issue notices to those employees who were not at their workplaces, he informed further.
After it had come to light that many employees were not found at their workplaces and arriving late on duty, Municipal Commissioner is trying to discipline latecomers. On the backdrop of this, the Municipal Commissioner is paying surprise visits to various departments at Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan.
Informing more about this, the Municipal Commissioner said, “I paid visit to health, sports and slum departments on Friday. 4 employees in health department, 1 from safety department, 2 from mechanical department and 2 from slum department were not found at their workplaces. I asked department heads to issue notices to these employees.
I also paid surprise visits to town planning, underground sewage, water supply and health departments, but everyone were found at their workplaces. Salaries are being paid as per attendance in muster, but salaries will now be paid after biometric attendance registration of all employees working in divisional offices, headquarter and all NMC establishments. In addition, responsibility of employees attendance will now be given to the department heads,” he added.
Corporators are happy with sudden visits by the Municipal Commissioner. Informing about this, the Municipal Commissioner stated, “I paid visits to 10 prabhags. I am witnessing real situation in the respective areas and is receiving information about this on the spot from officials. As a result, momentum is being provided to necessary works. After the tour, I will take letter bearing signatures of all four corporators and will sanction works as per priority. So far, there are complaints about work of underground sewage work in newly developed colonies and narrow roads and garbage in old areas. Efforts will be taken to resolve these problems,” he informed.
A bigger work regarding water supply will be done under smart city project. Arrangement of digital water metre will be made. Water supply pipeline in the city will be improved through this. In addition, underground sewage line will be constructed at new colonies in the city under Amrut Yojana, the Municipal Commissioner informed.
The meeting of board of directors of Nashik Smart City Corporation will be held on August 14 at NMC. Decision on approval of tenders for renovation of Nehru garden and electric crematorium will be held, said the Municipal Commissioner.
