Nashik: The results of Higher Secondary Certificate examination, conducted by State Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board in February-March 2017 were declared online yesterday. Nashik division registered 88.22% results. Compared to last year, the percentage has increased by 4.23%. Nashik district recorded 87.09% results. The passing percentage of girls is 92.38% and that of boys is 85.11%.
Marksheets will be distributed to students at junior colleges on June 9 at 3 pm, informed Nashik division chairman Rajendra Godhane. The Education Board declared the HSC results on seven websites. In addition, it provided short code facility to know results through SMS on mobile. There was also facility to dial USSD code and put examination seat number in it from mobile to know results immediately.
1.59 lakh students were registered from 952 junior colleges from Nashik division. There were 91,000 boys in them, whereas girls were 68,014. Out of these, 1.59 lakh students appeared for the examination. 1.40 lakh students passed the examination. 70,672 boys passed the examination, whereas 62,758 girls passed the examination. The overall percentage of the results is 88.22%. Last year the division had registered 83% results. The percentage has increased after a gap of three years, informed Nashik division chairman Godhane in a media briefing.
The HSC examination took place at 86 examination centres in the division. Around 70,099 students appeared from the district. Out of these, 61,047 students passed the examination. 24,409 students appeared for the examination from 195 junior colleges in Dhule district. Out of these, 22,186 students passed it. In Jalgaon district, 43,027 students from 277 junior colleges passed the examination, whereas 14,315 students from Nandurbar district passed the examination. Facility of re-verification of marks and xerox copies of answer sheets will be started from today. This facility will be available for students till June 19.
Though examination for failed students will be conducted in September-October, they can sit for examination in July. Online filing of examination form will be started from June 5, informed the education board.
Girls outshine boys in State Board class XII exams
Pune : Girls outperformed boys in the State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education class XII examinations, the results of which were declared yesterday. The overall pass percentage in state stood at 89.50. The passing percentage for girls was 93.20, compared to 86.65 of boys, a senior official said. The results for all the nine divisions – Pune, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nashik, Amravati, Aurangabad, Kolhapur, Latur and Konkan – were simultaneously declared. 14,29,478 students appeared for the exam this year and of them 12,79,406 passed, he said. Konkan division scored highest passing percentage with 95.20, whereas Mumbai was lowest with 88.21, the official added.
