Nashik : A two-day state level chess competition for visually disabled was organised recently by Mico employees forum and Blind Welfare Association to encourage visually disabled players.
Vice president of Bosch company Alexandar, manager Atul Khanapurkar, president of Bosch union Pravin Patil, president of Mico Employees Forum Shrikant Joshi, president of Blind Welfare Association Arun Bharaskar and Kalpana Pande were present as chief guests for the programme held at Mico Employees Forum, Simhasthanagar, New Nashik. Alexandar said that Mico Forum is committed towards social duty. Visually disabled students will get inspiration through such competitions and they will get opportunity to play in country level competitions in future, he added.
Aspaq Kagdi made the introductory speech, while Arun Bharaskar compered the programme. Bhimrao Kote proposed the vote of thanks. Citizens in large numbers were present for this programme.
Milind Samant from Pune bagged first prize of Rs. 5000, while Vikas Shitole won second prize of Rs. 4000. Rajesh Nimbulkar got third prize of Rs. 3000. As many as 62 competitors from Pune, Mumbai, Satara, Thane, Amravati, Latur and Nagpur districts took part in the competition.
