Nashik: An ultimatum will be issued to the government through a march which will be organised on August 9 at Mumbai. If demands are not fulfilled despite this, another march will be taken out in future and government will be responsible for this, warned office bearers during state level meeting of Maratha Kranti Morcha held at Nashik on Sunday. The core committee of the state has been formed and two members each from every district have been included in it.
Maratha community had organised 58 marches across the state to provide justice to the victim of Kopardi gangrape and to press for other demands. Despite this government has not accepted the demands. As a result, preparations are going on to organise a grand march at Mumbai on August 9.
On the backdrop of this, state level meeting of Maratha community took place at Rukmini lawns on Aurangabad Road. Primary plan of the grand march to be organised in Mumbai was tabled in it. A meeting about this will be conducted with Mumbai police. Thereafter districtwise meeting will be conducted on June 24 and state level meeting will be held on June 25. It was decided to reach the details of the planning to people.
A core committee of 5 members from the district has been selected to bring Maratha community for the march and to make micro planning for this. Following selection of district committee, talukawise committees will be formed.
Representatives of Maratha community from Aurangabad, Jalgaon, Ahmednagar, Pune, Amravati, Nagpur, Buldhana, Jalna, Osmanabad, Solapur, Kolhapur, Satara, Ratnagiri, Raigad, Sindhudurg and Dhule districts were present in large numbers for the meeting. Representatives across the state tabled their views regarding planning about the march in Mumbai.
It has been decided that no one should use Maratha Kranti Morcha for self. Committees will be formed at village, taluka and district level and take review of the preparations for the march every three days. Core committee will be formed at every district and make planning for vehicles and lodging and boarding for agitators at Mumbai three days before the march.
It has also been decided to form transport committee for making planning for the vehicles coming to Mumbai. A district level committee will be formed for making facility of lavatory and lodging and boarding of women at Mumbai. To make planning for banners, flags, pamphlets and posters to create awareness among Maratha community members, to form high level committee of expert lawyers in the state to fight court battle for Maratha reservation, representatives of Maratha Kranti Morcha from rural area should go to Mumbai 2-3 days before of the march to create awareness among Maratha community members at Mumbai and to form state level committee for making planning for the march and to table demands before the government.
Candle march at Kopardi on July 13
One year will be completed since the Kopardi gangrape on July 13. On the backdrop of this, the representatives of Maratha community across the state will come together at Kopardi on July 13. Tributes will be paid to the victim. Thereafter a grand march will be organised at Mumbai on August 9.
