‘Make in Nashik’ to get momentum


Nashik : ‘Make in India’ project has been undertaken on the lines of ‘Make in Maharashtra’ to provide impetus to industrial growth in Nashik. ‘Make in Nashik’ was organised recently at Mumbai. At that time Union Minister for Heavy Industries Anant Geete had assured that he would take efforts to ensure investment by large industries in Nashik. Accordingly, industrialists from Nashik have been invited to New Delhi on August 9. Managing Directors of ten large companies in country will attend the meeting.

During ‘Make in Nashik’ event held at Mumbai, Minister Geete had stated, “Nashik city is a rapidly developing city. As atmosphere here is conducive for industrial growth, it is necessary to provide direction to this city. Many large projects are being undertaken at national level. I have responsibility to set up bigger industrial plants in Nashik too,” he added. Suggest some industries for Nashik, he had asked and assured that he would set up such industries.

Accordingly, MP Hemant Godse took follow up. Godse, NIMA and AIMA office bearers will be present for the meeting to be held at Udyog Bhavan, New Delhi on Aug 9. Nashik is considered as a rapidly developing city after Mumbai-Pune and has good connectivity.

Though it has all basic facilities, not a single large project has been set up here in the last ten years, but there is optimism that ‘Make in Nashik’ will get momentum due to this meeting.

Meanwhile, managing directors of Electronics Corporation of India Ltd., Bharat Earth Movers Ltd., Bharat Dynamics Ltd., Bharat Electronics Ltd., Garden Reach Ship Builders and Engineers Ltd., Goa Shipyard Ltd., Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd., Hindustan Shipyard Ltd., Mazgaon Dock Ship Builders Ltd., and Mishra Dhatu Nigam Ltd. will be present for the meeting.
