Foodgrain distribution to 4 lakh ration card holders through PoS

Nashik: The Point of Sale machines have been given for all fair price shop owners as a part of digitisation process of all fair price shops in the district. Foodgrain has been distributed through PoS machines to 4.23 lakh ration card holders in last one month. As this system will be implemented effectively in the entire district, there will be transparency in foodgrain distribution, claimed the district administration.

District Collector Radhakrishnan B informed about the measures being conducted to make functioning of the district administration smarter. PoS machines have been installed at fair price shops to bring transparency in rationing system and these shops have been digitised, he added.

This system has been functionalised at 97% shops in the district and digitisation process of 100% ration shops will be completed soon.

The ration card holder will get foodgrain with thumb mark on the machine. A process to link aadhaar card with beneficiary ration card holders is being conducted in the district. Corruption in foodgrain distribution will come to an end with this. Foodgrain distribution will be recorded in the PoS machine. Beneficiaries will get their foodgrain quota. Aadhaar card, xerox of bank passbook, xerox of gas card and mobile number have been collected from the beneficiaries for this. Antoday and yellow card beneficiaries will get benefit of this, the District Collector informed further.
