NASHIK : The Kisan Sabha, led by Zilla Parishad member Amruta Pawar has taken out a rally to the district collectorate here demanding immediate credit supply to the farmers before start of kharif season.
The rally which started from Golf Club ground did not receive satisfactory response from the farmers across the district as expected as call was given to the farmers by the organisers by arranging pre-meetings at village level for participation throughout the district.
The memorandum, submitted to the district collector, demands urgent provision of credit supply to the farmers to conduct pre-monsoon farming activities, loan waiver for farmers, implementation of the provisions of the Swaminathan Aayog, transfer of the banks accounts of the farmers from the NDCC Bank to nationalised banks, uninterrupted power supply to farmers, blank 7/12 abstract, pension to farmers aged over 60 years, minimum support price (MSP) for agricultural commodities etc.
Meanwhile, ZP member Pawar who led the march has warned of state-wide agitation if their demands are not met. “The farmers will resort to strike from June 1, if their demands are not fulfilled,” warned Pawar during a sit-in stir on the entrance gate of the collectorate while addressing the farmers.
