‘Emphasis on sustainable farming and empowerment of farmers’


Nashik : Keeping farming and farmer central, a substantial provision has been made for development of agriculture sector in this year’s budget. Government is taking special efforts for sustainable farming and empowerment of farmers, stated state Medical Education, Water Resources and District Guardian Minister Girish Mahajan.

He hoisted the tri-colour at the Police Parade ground here to mark the 57th foundation day of Maharashtra. He was speaking at the time. ZP chairperson Shital Sangle, Mayor Ranjana Bhansi, MLA Balasaheb Sanap, Seema Hiray, Divisional Commissioner Eknath Davale, District Collector Radhakrishnan B, Police Commissioner Dr. Ravinder Kumar Singal, Special IG Vinoykumar Choube, SP Ankush Shinde and ZP CEO Milind Shambharkar were present.

Mahajan further stated that government has started sustainable farming and progressive farmer drive. There is an attempt by government to grow agriculture produce through new technology. Incomplete projects in state will be completed under Prime Minister Krishi Sinchan Yojna. Following decision to repair and maintain canals through water tax, farmers will be benefitted.

State government approved the policy of desilting. It will help to increase water stock in dams and irrigation capacity will also increase. Besides this farmers will get silt, he informed and confided that there would long term benefits of various schemes conducted for the farmers. Efforts will be made through Make in Nashik to provide employment for skilled human resources in the district. Special efforts will be made to bring agriculture related industries in the district and industrialists and farmers will get benefit of them, Mahajan confided further.

City police commissionerate, SP (rural), home guard force, city traffic branch, fire brigade, forest department, police band squad, dog unit vehicle, rapid response force, animal rescue van and RTO squads took part in the parade led by parade commander Jayant Bajbale and second parade commander Ramdas Palshetkar.

Floats by Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Swasth Maharashtra Abhiyan, election branch, supply department, agriculture department, social welfare department and tribal development department were main attractions of the parade. Meanwhile, the District Guardian Minister Mahajan honoured the police officials and personnel who have received the DGP’s Honour.
