Nashik : The ‘Swachhata bus sthanak – agarachi’ abhiyan, being conducted by state government under Sant Gadgebaba cleanliness project began from Monday. A contract has been given to private company for cleaning 39 bus stands in the district on daily basis, it was informed.
The cleanliness drive was started in presence of MLA Deoyani Pharande and divisional controller Yamini Joshi at Thakkar Bazaar. The state transport department has started the cleanliness drive on birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
The contract of cleanliness has been given to Brisky company. Employees of the company will be available at all bus stands in three shifts and will clean bus stands and depots twice to thrice with help of equipments. They will use jet cleaning machine, vacuum cleaner, floor machine and other equipments.
Citizens and passengers should also take efforts to keep bus stands clean, urged MLA Pharande. Senior depot general manager Yogesh Khode, depot manager Kishore Patil, divisional accounts officer B D Ugale, divisional store room officer Arvind Kahar, divisional engineer R K Qazi and Nasar Desai were also present.
