Nashik : After a gap of two years, Nashik district will receive 50,000 saffron and yellow ration cards. They will be received within eight days, informed District Supply Officer Savita Narke. Food and Supplies department of state government is taking efforts for bringing transparency and speed in foodgrain distribution system.
On one side implementation of newer schemes is taking place for this, applications from hundreds of beneficiaries were received for getting new ration cards. The way is clear now to get new ration cards due to consistent follow up, Narke informed further.
Ration cards of many families are in bad state due to constant use, whereas ration cards of some torn. As there was shortage of new ration cards, citizens have to use old ration cards. Fair price shop owners and employees from supply department were also troubled due to frequent queries by consumers about new ration cards.
