Dist admn to launch pilot project, provide 24-hr service


NASHIK: In a first, the district administration has decided to implement a unique pilot project in Nashik district in order to speed up administrative working and establish good governance by providing 24-hour public utility services at its collectorate and Tehsil offices.

The administration is to provide 24-hour services by installing as many as 16 Information Kiosks – an ATM-like computer for public access – at 15 Tehsil offices and at the district collectorate.

The Kiosk, after inserting Rs 10, will provide one information, requisite details along with print-out on various services like government certificates, 7/12 abstract, court verdict, judgement which comes under e-district, all documents in the record room etc, informed district collector Radhakrishnan B.

“The pilot project is to be run on an experimental basis. After successful testing at taluka level, the machines will be installed in each circle of the district,” he said.  “We are also contemplating providing cash withdrawal services like the ATM offers, through these kiosks,” Radhakrishnan added.
