Cyber police station in the city inaugurated


Nashik : Marking the occasion of Maharashtra Day, Nashik city police force has started a separate cyber police station. Cyber crimes in the city will now be registered at this police station. This is second cyber police station in state.

District Guardian Minister Girish Mahajan inaugurated this police station. MLA Balasaheb Sanap, MLA Seema Hiray, special IG Vinoy Choube, Police Commissioner Dr. Ravinder Kumar Singal, DCP Duttatray Karale, Vijay Patil, Shrikant Dhivre and Laxmikant Patil were also present.

The number of cyber crimes on online cheating incidents in the city are on rise. The number of using mobile phones and internet is also increasing. Criminal incidents are also increasing with this. Specially, misuse of social media and looting of money from bank accounts are happened regularly.

On the backdrop of all these, home ministry had decided to start a separate cyber police station. The decision was implemented first in Mumbai. Police Commissioner Dr. Singal took initiative for setting up the cyber police station in Nashik city and it has been operationalised from May 1.

One police inspector, three PSIs and eight police personnel are working in this police station. All necessary technology and human resources are available at the police station and it is possible to provide momentum to investigations related to cyber crimes.

Every crime which will take place using the internet will be registered at the cyber crime police station. This police station will investigate into the crime, Pawar made it clear. If both IPC and IT act involve in any case, complainants can file case in concerned police station. If cyber crime case file in city police stations, it will be transferred to the cyber police station with zero number. Cyber police station will investigate into the case, police inspector of the cyber police station Anil Pawar clarified.
