Nashik : Former DGP and renowned sports psychologist Bhishmaraj Bam had developed many players in Nashik as well as in the country. A huge vacuum has been created in sports sector following his sudden demise. He will always be remembered through his thoughts. In addition, construct an international level sports complex and building in his name. A real tribute will be paid to him through this, opined prominent personalities in a condolence meet organised at public library in Mahatmanagar to pay condolences to late Bhishmaraj Bam.
Bam had passed away on Friday evening after suffering a massive heart attack. After final rites on the mortal remains of Bam on Saturday, the condolence meeting was organised on Sunday at public library in Mahatmanagar. Prominent personalities from various sectors were present.
MLA Devyani Pharande stated, “Bam sir had huge contribution in taking sports field to a different level. He was very disciplined and was of the view that sports helped in developing healthy man and society. I will take efforts to bring his dream of having international level sports academy in the city into a reality,” she added.
Chairperson of NMC standing committee Shivaji Gangurde said that Bam sir was guide of many, but was identity of Mahatmanagar. Industrialist Jitubhai Thakkar stated that everyone should implement the thoughts given by Bam sir into their works. This will be a real tribute to him.
“I lost best guide with demise of Bam sir,” said Devdutt Joshi, whereas Sujan Nagari Manch’s Manohar Deshpande informed that with inspiration by Bam sir, sports ground was developed in the place of waste ground in New Nashik. Sachin Joshi urged everyone to pay tribute to Bam with better performance in their work fields. City NCP chief Ranjan Thakre recollected memories of Bam sir.
Shridhar Deshpande stated, “I still cannot believe that Bam sir who had loved sports throughout his life and supported sports associations and mandals is not amongst us.”
Shraddha Nalamwar expressed her wish to start international level shooting range in the name of Bhishmaraj Bam. Rohan Deshpande felt, “We lost that personality who had developed ordinary personalities into extraordinary personalities.” Avinash Avhad expressed his desire to collect photographs and written material of Bam sir and to publish them.
Suhas Pharande, Hemlata Patil, Adv. Shridhar Vyvhare, Jayprakash Jategaonkar, Manoj Choudhari, Madhuri Patil, Gita Deulgaonkar, Priyanka Ghate, Nagesh Kale, Shital Sonawane, Balkrishna Sonar and Narayan Deodhar also expressed their feelings.
The family of Bhishmaraj Bam and prominent personalities from various sectors were present in large numbers. Dhananjay Bele compered the meeting.
