Nashik: The environment balance is important for existence of human life and citizens in large numbers should take part in tree plantation and tree conservation programme for environment protection, urged state Forest Minister Sudhir Munganttiwar.
He was speaking during a tree plantation programme organised jointly by HAL and forest department at Ojhar Township. MLA Devyani Pharande, District Collector Radhakrishnan B, chief forest conservator S V Ramarao, deputy commissioner Babasaheb Rajurkar, chairperson of ZP construction committee Manisha Pawar, Laxman Savji and Dada Jadhav were present.
Munganttiwar stated that forest department has made agreement with army to increase forest are in state. A programme to plant tree plantation scientific way through ‘eco battalion’ has been started at Aurangabad. 16 crore saplings have been ready at various nurseries in state. 4 crore saplings will be planted this year and 13 crore saplings will be planted next year, he informed. Kharge also spoke on this occasion.
Earlier, Munganttiwar, chief executive officer of HAL Daljitsingh and others planted saplings in Ojhar Township area.
