Nashik : Students should celebrate Ganeshotsav using items that will do no harm to environment, stated joint secretary of Nashik Shikshan Prasarak Mandal Sanstha Prasad Kulkarni.
He was speaking in a workshop organised at Mohinidevi Rungta Prathamik Vidyamandir to prepare lord Ganesh idols from Shadu soil. Kulkarni inaugurated this workshop. 60 students and girl-students of J S Rungta high school and Pushpavati Rungta girls school took part in this workshop.
Urging students to celebrate Ganeshotsav in an eco-friendly way, Kulkarni made it clear that preparing Lord Ganesh idols from Shadu soil is part of this.
Art teacher Swpanil Katyare showed demonstrations about how to prepare the idols. Students prepared the idols in enthusiastic atmosphere.
Headmaster of J S Rungta high school Sanjay Suryawanshi, headmistress of Pushpavati Rungta girls school Jyotsna Avhad, supervisor Smita Pathak and senior teacher Arun Paithankar were present on dais.
Rajendraprasad Pande compered the programme, whereas headmistress Jyotsna Avhad proposed the vote of thanks.
