Nashik: Nashik Road police conducted mock drill in the premises of revenue commissionerate here to strengthen the security setup and check the alertness of the police forces ahead of Independence Day.
The drill involving a suspicious explosive, placed in an abandoned plastic carry bag was searched out by the anti-bomb squad to defuse it immediately after following a series of steps.
The operation which was lasted nearly half an hour, was conducted under the supervision of dy commissioner of police Shrikrishna Kokate and asst commissioner of police Mohan Thakur.
Senior PI (Nashik Road police station) Pandharinath Dhokane, asst PI Shelkar, PI (bomb detection and disposal squad) Balkrishna Shejale, PSI Milind Telore, Jayant Jadhav, Madhu Palvi, Sunil Adke, Madan Bendkule, Vijay Nikam, PI (anti-terrorist squad) Devraj Borse, Vijay Labhade and M N Madhe of the fire brigade took part in the mock drill demonstration.
The security drill provided an opportunity to enhance synergy and coordination amongst various agencies and refine their drills on ground.
