Central team surveys Nashik Road for security paper mill

NASHIK ROAD : A 6-member central team visited Nashik Road to check the feasibility of setting up a bank note paper manufacturing plant here to fulfil the paper requirement of India Security Press (ISP) and Central Note Press (CNP).

The efforts to have a paper plant in Nashik gained momentum after the union minister, who had visited Nashik last year, had assured setting up a security paper plant in Nashik.

The committee comprising former chief director of press corporation Dr A K Rao, BNPM official A J Kulkarni, Dr Govindraj, T Chandrashekhar Rao, Chandrakumar and T R Gowda visited Nashik Road and surveyed thoroughly the sites, which can be used to set up the proposed manufacturing unit in the city.

The central team during its 2-day inspection tour, paid visit to different locations to check modalities and technical aspects before giving a go-ahead for the proposed security paper plant in Nashik Road.

The delegates also discussed the matter with press management, union leaders, senior officials and MP Hemant Godse.

Mazdoor Sangh general secretary Jagdish Godse, working president Dnyaneshwar Jundre, vice president Madhav Lahange, Sunil Ahire, Rajesh Takekar, Nandu Palde, Uttam Rakibe, Shivaji Kadam, Jairam Kothule, Dinkar Kharjul, Ulhas Bhalerao, Irfan Shaikh, Dnyaneshwar Gaikwad, staff union general secretary Sandeep Biswas, CNP GM S P Verma and Kalamkar were among those present at this crucial meeting.
