Nashik : The state cooperatives department has credited around Rs. 899.11 crore into ICICI bank to deposit the amount into bank accounts of 2.39 lakh farmers in first phase as per the green list announced under ‘Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Shetkari Sanman Yojana, declared by state government to provide loan waiver to farmers.
Around 800 account holders of district central bank are included in the list and loan worth Rs. 4 crore to be waived off for this, sources informed. However, bank has not received the amount yet, it was stated.
The state government has selected ICICI bank to credit the amount meant for loan waiver to farmers. Cooperatives department has around Rs. 4,000 crore in its bank account. The amount from this will be credited into ICICI bank phasewise. ICICI bank will transfer this amount to farmers’ bank accounts in various 11 public sector banks including the district central cooperative bank. Around 1 lakh farmers in Nashik district have become eligible to get benefit of the loan waiver. Out of these, around 800 farmers are included in first list.
A loan waiver of around Rs. 4 crore will be provided to these farmers. This amount will be transferred soon to the district central cooperative bank. Lists are being uploaded and farmers will get benefit with updation of lists and amount will be deposited to the banks, informed deputy district registar Nilkanth Kare.
