58 water tankers supplying water in the district


Nashik : Rural area is witnessing water scarcity like situation and administration is approving proposals for tankers. Currently, water is being supplied to 98 villages and 91 remote areas amounting to total 189 villages through 58 tankers.

Following increase in summer heat, water level in water sources in the rural area is reaching bottom. Drinking water situation has become serious. Highest number of tankers have been utilised at Yeola, Baglan, Malegaon and Nandgaon talukas.

District administration has prepared action plan for water scarcity like situation. Measures to tackle the situation in those area where tankers are needed are included in it.

This time, Zilla Parishad has prepared the action plan worth Rs. 10 crore. Though various measures have been suggested in it at every stage, work has not started yet on any measurement. It is being seen that emphasis is given on to provide water to tankers only.

Meanwhile, 33 wells have been acquired for the district, whereas 12 wells have been acquired for tankers. Total 45 wells have been acquired in the district. Three wells from Deola have been acquired, whereas a single well has been acquired at Igatpuri.

17 wells have been acquired at Kalvan, while 7 wells have been acquired at Malegaon. 6 wells have been acquired at Nadgaon, whereas two wells have been acquired at Peth and three wells from Surgana have been acquired.
