Nashik : Grandparents at the Ashoka Universal School had a fun-filled day on 19th June 2017, when the school started its Grandparents’ Club (Zindagi Live Club) for the new academic session 2017-18.
In the year 2014, realising the growing need of the elderly of the society to be loved and cared for, chairman Ashok Katariya and joint secretary Shrikant Shukla of Ashoka Universal School, planned to start a club in the school, especially for grandparents. The club, besides making the elderly feel important, also gives them a platform to re-live their youth through fun-filled activities and enjoyment, organized every month by the school. The activities include picnics, movies, health check-ups, music mania, sports, etc. Festivals are also celebrated with full gusto wherein grandparents sway to musical tunes and dance numbers, with full enthusiasm and energy.
The 4th Year of Zindagi Club (2017-18) kickstarted with a host of arrangements of games, activities, interactive sessions and singing and dance performances, the day witnessed the elderly thoroughly having fun and enjoying themselves, much to the delight of the school authorities, who went out of their way to make them feel warm, comfortable and loved. Snacks were served intermittently between the performances over lots of interactions and greetings among them.
