Satpur : Strengthening the unique bond between brother and sister, women activists cutting across party lines celebrated Raksha Bandhan festival by paying a visit to a police station here.
The women activists tied the traditional rakhis on the wrists of senior PI Avinash Sonawane and other police personnel of Satpur police station. Besides the all-party women wings and office bearers of the police vigilance committee, corporators Diksha Londhe, Seema Nigal, Hemlata Kandekar, Dr Varsha Bhalerao, BJP city vice president Sujata Karanjgikar, Bharati Bagul, Smita Joshi, Mangala Khotare, Alka Patil, Pratibha Kale, Lata Bapat, Vaidehi Deshpande, Shiv Sena president (Satpur) Alka Gaikwad, Sunanda Thakare, Meena Deokar and Sunita Wagh were also present.
On the occasion, senior PI Sonawane expressed his gratitude for the love and affection shown by the activists on this special day. Meanwhile, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena celebrated Raksha Bandhan at an orphanage house in Trimbakeshwar. MNS taluka president Ramesh Khandbahale and MNS (youth wing) district vice president Atmaram Mate were also present.
