Nashik : After state government decided to plant 4 crore saplings in entire state, Nashik Municipal Corporation planted 4180 saplings on the hill near Maharashtra University of Health Sciences in Mhasrul Shivar on second consecutive day on Sunday.

The NMC has aimed to plant 5000 saplings in Mhasobawadi area and on the hill near MUHS from July 1 to 7. Accordingly, it conducted sapling plantation programme on second consecutive day. 1430 saplings were planted on second day, whereas 2750 saplings were planted in the same area on first day. In this way, NMC planted 4180 saplings in two days.

The NMC office bearers, corporators, garden superintendent B U More, executive engineer Tiwari, tree officer Gosavi, divisional officer Jayashri Sonawane, Nitin Ner, all officials and employees from garden department were present. In addition, office bearers and members of Social Networking Forum, Indian Medical Association, Panchavati college, Appasaheb Dharmadhikari Pratishthan and citizens were present in large numbers. Banyan, peepal (sacred fig), neem, kadamb, tamarind and rain tree saplings were planted.
