The review of the works done by ZP water resources department and agriculture department under the Jalyukt Shivar Yojna will mainly be taken. Considering this ZP and agriculture department are emphasising on completion of works.

Last year, works under the Jalyukt Shivar Yojna were fixed in east and west area of the district. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had conducted the meeting of the department at Maharashtra University of Health Sciences for immediate completion of these works and instructed taluka level officials to table review of the works.

In addition, he instructed the District Collector to use the pending fund of any department for completion of the works under the Yojna and made clarified to emphasise on completion of the works. He had informed that he would take review again after three months, but due to enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct for state Legislature and local civic body elections, the meeting could not take place.

Following the gap of around six months, the Chief Minister instructed the administration to make preparations for the review meeting.
Works worth Rs. 13 crore were proposed under the Jalyukt Shivar Yojna through ZP. There were arguments between the then officials and administration over distribution of funds for these works. Drama took place in ZP over work in ZP member group, final approval to works under the Yojna and tenders.

As a result, the District Collector had himself provided his attention and had ordered the CEO to ask ZP’s small irrigation department in east and west area. With this, these works were going on since 4-5 months. There was target to complete them by March end. Despite this as works are going on, administration likely to face difficulties while showing completion of the works to the CM.
