Satpur : Mahindra and Mahindra Nashik plant has given contribution for health and environment by planning for ‘rainwater harvesting’, ‘Nanhi Kali’, ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’, use of solar power, plantation of 3 lakh trees in Borgad area, tree plantation along Nashik-Trimbakeshwar road, blood supply to thalassemia patients, jobs to AIDS patients and conduction of their marriages. These social programmes are being praised at national level, stated chief sustainability officer of Mahindra and Mahindra company Anirban Ghosh.
He was speaking as chief guest in a programme organised to mark 72nd foundation day of Mahindra and Mahindra industry group. Nashik plant head and vice president Hiraman Aher, chief general manager Chandrakant Dhande, Satish Gogte, Nobert D’souza, Chandra Banerjee, worker union chairman Yogesh Chavan, vice chairman Rajendra Pawar, secretary Bala Kankekar, joint secretary Lawrence Bhandare, committee member Sunil Avsarkar and B K Poi were present on dais.
Worker Ghanshyam Thakre who came first in state level fire brigade competition, Scorpio TCF officer Santosh Pawar who collected thousands of litres of blood for thalassemia patients, workers Sagar Mahajan, Mahendra Desai, Rajendra Patil and Nilesh Donde were honoured by the chief guests. Workers Kailas Bachhav and Ravindra Vispute won the weight loss competition with the help of yoga. Mahindra and Mahindra company’s vehicle driver trainer Samson Joseph who provided training to students from 23 colleges and 20 schools and workers from 32 various industries in Nashik area about how to drive four-wheeler and two-wheeler properly were honoured by the chief guests.
Vice president Hiraman Aher honoured Bolero TCF officer Namdeo Yelmame and Arun Bhore who rehabilitated 25 AIDS affected families through Mangalmaitri concept with citations. Worker Shantaram Pagar was also felicitated for his contribution in more than 15,000 tree plantation drives. Coach of national and international athletes Vijendrasingh, Kavita Raut, Sanjeevani Jadhav, Kisan Tadvi, Monika Athre, Tai Bamne, Aarti Patil and Poonam Sonawane were especially felicitated.
Hiraman Aher and chief guests released the book ‘Manufacturing foot of print and digitisation’ written by deputy general manager of manufacturing foot of print Ashok Boraste, Kunal Choudhari, Dhananjay Joshi and Sandip Patil. Deputy general manager Rahul Narkar, Kiran Marathe, Devdutt Ghate, Iqbal Nayyar, Ravindra Suryawanshi, deputy general manager (personnel) Jitendra Kamtikar, senior manager Mohan Kumar and others were present.
Deputy general manager Chandra Banerjee made the introductory speech, while chief general manager Nobert D’souza introduced chief guests. Kamalakar Dhongde, Ashutosh Agnihotri, Vrushali Kulkarni and Sunil Nambiar organised the programme. 10,000 families of officials and workers visited the plant and inspected it.
